Seventh Break-Bulk Business Run Comes to Shanghai in February

The Journal of Commerce Online - Press Release

NEWARK, N.J, Feb. 3, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Flensborg and Associates, a Munich-based sales and consulting firm, proudly announces the seventh Break-Bulk Business Run, which will take place in Shanghai in February 2012, and the expansion of the Business Run circuit to include additional events in April and June 2012. The Business Run combines athletics and networking for professionals in the heavy-lift and breakbulk industries, with visitors and exhibitors from UBM Global Trade's Breakbulk China Conference and Exhibition participating. Approximately 300 runners have taken part in previous Break-Bulk Business Runs in Antwerp, Houston, Singapore, New Orleans and Munich. The Business Run event circuit is the brainchild of coordinators Anders and Katrin Flensborg, who lead Flensborg and Associates.

A unique and successful concept, this international event circuit combines charitable giving with networking opportunities and sports for professionals in the transportation and maritime industries. 100 percent of participant fees are donated to local charities. Events in cities around the world have already generated more than $3,500 in charitable contributions. Participants also applaud the Break-Bulk Business Runs for combining health and the love of sports with collegiality and good will amongst industry colleagues. "I've really enjoyed the Business Run, the new contacts and friendships, and I hope to have the opportunity to participate again at all future Breakbulk Conferences and Exhibitions. This would make our lives a bit less stressful," said Genaro Luevano, Manager of the Mexican Nuevo Laredo Terminals.

The upcoming Seventh Business Run in Shanghai, part of the regular Business Run event schedule, will kick off at 3:00 p.m. on February 28. The event offers a choice of two routes: a 5K for less ambitious runners and a 10K for more athletic participants, with the start and finish point at the Sheraton Shanghai Hongqiao Hotel. Clipper Projects and Ceres Barge Line have signed on as main sponsors of this event. Additional sponsors of the upcoming event in Shanghai include Albacor Shipping, DP World Terminals, Texas Terminals, Hughes Marine Firms and Port of Houston Authority.
