VPA, MSC Offer Through Service to Richmond

The Journal of Commerce Online - News Story
Bill of lading offered for both imports and exports to and from the port

Mediterranean Shipping began offering a bill of lading for both imports and exports to and from the Port of Richmond, Va., which was taken over by the Virginia Port Authority last July.

The VPA said the cooperative effort with MSC will enhance service at the Port of Richmond, on Virginia’s James River.

The VPA’s container terminals in Portsmouth and Norfolk, 60 miles down the James River from Richmond, are linked to the Port of Richmond by a twice-weekly barge service that moves about 200 containers per week and carries 5,500 to 6,999 containers annually.
