The Journal of Commerce Online - News Story
Caribbean carrier plans to boost traffic through 25-acre terminal by 23 percent

SeaFreight Agencies opened its new 25-acre container terminal at Port Everglades, and the Caribbean carrier plans to boost its volume 23 percent through the Floridian port over the next six years.

The Southport Phase VIIA/VIII terminal is part of a 41-acre, $12.3 million expansion at Port Everglades. Crowley Liner Services has added 11 acres to the 68 acres it previously occupied at the port.

SeaFreight operates eight container ships with twice-weekly sailings to and from Port Everglades. Before moving into the new terminal, SeaFreight handled cargo through other terminals at the port. The company’s 10-year terminal lease includes volume guarantee of a 23 percent volume boost in the first six years.
