Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell this week appointed Craig P. Coy to the Virginia Port Authority board of commissioners.
Coy is replacing Michael J. Quillen, who had served on the VPA board for more than nine years. His term will expire on June 30, 2017.
Previously, Coy served as the CEO of Massport, where he was in charge of Boston Logan International Airport, the Port of Boston, the Maurice J. Tobin Bridge and Hanscom Field.
He is also a 20-year veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard and served as deputy director for counter terrorism at the National Security Council.
Coy is currently the CEO of Command Security.
