Rick Heimann has been named port director for the Port of Indiana-Burns Harbor, effective Jan. 16.
"We are pleased to have someone of Rick's caliber lead our port," said Rich Cooper, CEO of the Ports of Indiana, in a written statement. "His leadership and experience in supply chain management with a heavy focus on rail and water will be an invaluable asset to our team."
Heimann most recently served as sourcing manager with ArcelorMittal USA, focused on rail and water transportation. Before that, he had roles as transportation manager for AK Steel and sales manager for The Ohio River Co., a barge line.
