Port of Seattle's Cargo Volume Fell 15.9 Percent in October

The Port of Seattle reported container volume in October was down 15.9 percent year-over-year.

The port’s year-to-date container volume also slumped, falling 5.4 percent compared with the same period in 2011.

As a region, the ports of Seattle and Tacoma were up 4.5 percent in October, and up 2.5 percent in the first 10 months of 2012.

Hanjin Shipping also resumed its China America Express service at terminal 46 in October, with vessels whose capacity ranges from 4,500 to 5,500 20-foot-equivalent units.
