Port of Oakland Executive Director Retires

Omar Benjamin, executive director at the Port of Oakland, has notified the board of port commissioners that he is retiring from the position, effective immediately.

Deborah Ale Flint will continue to direct the port’s business activities and daily operations as acting executive director.

Investigation by outside counsel into the port’s expense reimbursement practices is continuing in the meantime, and James Kwon, the port’s maritime director, remains on administrative leave.
