Port of Houston’s Volume Stable in October

Tonnage at Port of Houston Authority facilities in October was 6,000 tons, up a slight 0.5 percent, Executive Director Len Waterworth said in his monthly financial report.

Year-to-date volume was up 8 percent to 1.7 million tons, fueled primarily by a 32 percent year-over-year surge in steel, Waterworth said.

Revenue from January to October was $186 million, up 9 percent from the same period last year.
