The Georgia Ports Authority's board of directors recently approved additional funding to increase capacity for heavy machinery exports. The project will provide greater capacity in moving oversized roll-on, roll-off cargo at the Port of Savannah’s Ocean Terminal, said Curtis Foltz, GPA’s executive director.
The project’s funding, now totaling nearly $5 million, is dedicated to high-density paving to support such loads.
