Brazilian container terminals Tecon Salvador and Tecon Rio Grande, both part of port operator Wilson Sons Group, will be employing SmartLanes, a Cargotec process automation offering, for gate automation, Cargotec announced today.
Wilson Sons decided to introduce the optical character recognition technology, comprising automated gate and rail systems, driver kiosks and barrier gates, to improve information quality, reduce human error and ensure compliance with Brazilian Customs.
SmartLanes will be provided via the Cargotec SmartPort Alliance, in cooperation with partner APS Technology Group.
