Port Manatee Gets Federal Funding for New Locomotives

Florida’s Port Manatee is getting a federal grant of about $2.5 million toward two new locomotives for the port.

The Bradenton Herald reported that the money is coming via a Tiger II grant from the U.S. Maritime Administration. The port plans to sell its existing locomotive to help cover the estimated $3 million cost of the new equipment.
