GCT to Add Terex Container Carriers in Bayonne

In 2013, Terex Port Solutions will supply 17 Terex NSC 624 E sprinter carriers to Global Container Terminals for its operations in Bayonne, N.J.

The diesel-electric sprinter carriers will transfer containers between the quayside and the container stackyards. The 1-over-1 carriers can travel up to about 20 mph  and are equipped with a twin-lift spreader, enabling them to move 20-foot, 40-foot and 45-foot containers up to a maximum load of 66 tons under spreader.  The machines can lift and deposit two 20-foot containers separately and stack one high-cube container on another.

GCT ordered the sprinter carriers to support the expansion of the terminal by its subsidiary Global Terminal & Container Services.
