The ports of Miami and Port Everglades and the Florida East Coast Railway are deploying a “build it and they will come” strategy to position South Florida as a gateway for trade with Asia in the new era of big ships.

It is great to see Gulf Ports and East Coast Ports, getting ready for the Panama Canal Expansion. Unfortunately, they have not spending enough time and resources developing need market partnerships with "upstream" or "inland" facilities. Many of the upstream and inland communities, do not have a clue, "to coming waves of freight". JML
