NRF Applauds OCU, Employers for Contract Ratification

The National Retail Federation has applauded the new contract between the International Longshore and Warehouse Union Local 63 Office Clerical Unit and the Los Angeles/Long Beach Harbor Employees Association after the union's ratification of the accord.

“This contract will bring much-needed stability to the supply chain, better position the ports for future growth and provide retailers the certainty they need to prepare for the upcoming summer shopping season,” said Jonathan Gold, NRF’s vice president for supply chain and customs policy, in a written statement.

NRF has reiterated its call for the International Longshoremen’s Association and the United States Maritime Alliance to “quickly conclude” ongoing local contract negotiations on East and Gulf Coast ports, urging them to ratify a new contract as well.
