The Port of Halifax and Canadian National Railway have jointly hired a representative in Mumbai, India, to help market the port as a gateway to North America using CN’s rail network.
George Malec, vice president of business development and operations at the Halifax Port Authority, said hiring Ajay Kumar Singh will increase Southeast Asian commercial presence and market intelligence and should help secure more traffic from this part of the world economy.
The new representative will work closely with the port’s business development manager in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
