New Liebherr mobile harbor crane.A new Liebherr mobile harbor crane was recently delivered to the Cape Town Agri Roro Terminal, operated by Transnet Port Terminals, in South Africa, to be primarily used for container operations.
The procurement is expected to result in a gross crane moves per crane per hour improvement of 20 percent over the next 12 months, said Christina Van Dyk, CTAR’s terminal manager, in a written statement.
The crane, which has a lifting capacity of 120 tons, is replacing a 14-year-old Gottwald MHC mobile harbor crane. It will rotate between Berths F and G, the terminal’s container berths.
