The Port of Dunkirk in France reported container traffic for the year 2012 totaled 260,000 20-foot-equivalent units, down 5 percent compared to 2011.
General cargo in 2012 increased 4 percent to 16.24 million metric tons, and the number of trucks and trailers rose by 13 percent to more than 560,000 freight units. Cross-channel roll-on, roll-off traffic posted an increase of 10 percent to 13 million metric tons.
Yearly traffic volume of all types was 47.22 million metric tons, sliding slightly by 0.6 percent compared with 2011.
