June was a strong month at the Port of Tacoma, with container volumes increasing almost 10 percent compared to June 2011.
Growth this year in Tacoma has been primarily in imports, with a year-to-date increase in containerized imports of 13.4 percent. Exports increased 2 percent in the first half of the year compared to the same period in 2011, and total port container volume was up 1.3 percent.
