Double-Digit Container Volume Growth for Ningbo Port

China’s Ningbo Port saw double-digit year-over-year container growth in October despite China’s mixed trading performance so far this year.

The port, located less than 100 miles south of Shanghai in the Yangtze River Delta, handled 1.41 million 20-foot-equivalent units last month, up 14.2 percent. Volumes fell, however, from the 1.59 million TEUs handled in September, with local reports blaming lower demand from Europe and the U.S. for exports.

Total volume handled at the port reached over 38 million metric tons in October, up 14.8 percent year-on-year.
