Pirates' Mistaken Identity

Never assume. Seven pirates in the Gulf of Aden got a lesson in that adage when they opened  fire on a tanker that turned out to be a German naval vessel, the Spessart.

The naval ship returned fire and gave chase, joined by vessels representing six other nations in three task forces patrolling the area.

According to communiques from the European Union and the U.S. Navy, the pirates were captured.
