The Journal of Commerce Online - News Story
Forwarder to handle oil, gas industry exports from U.S., Canada

Global forwarder Panalpina won significant new business from two of its long-time customers, oil and gas industry technology and equipment providers Halliburton and Weatherford.

For Weatherford, which provides mechanical and technology applications and services for all phases of oil and gas developments, Panalpina will handle air and ocean freight exports from the United States and Canada. Panalpina will be responsible for packing services for export shipments destined to Latin America, Africa and Russia. The appointment of Panalpina to handle this business will generate significant transport volumes to Latin America, Scotland, Africa and to CIS countries (except Kazakhstan), the forwarder said.

Panalpina Houston won all Halliburton air freight business from the United States to Europe (except Norway), including more than 1,000 tons annually primarily via Dixie Jet service from Huntsville, Ala. In addition, Panalpina retained business for lanes from the United States to Latin America and Sub-Saharan Africa.

Halliburton also awarded Panalpina Canada with its air freight and ocean freight exports from Canada to all of Europe (except Norway). Panalpina Canada will handle air and ocean exports to Latin America and Sub-Saharan Africa as well.
