Amid signs of growing balance between capacity and demand, AirBridge Cargo Airlines, part of Volga-Dnepr Group, is launching 747 freighter service from Amsterdam to Tokyo.
AirBridge will operate the 747-400 Schiphol to Narita flight every Wednesday via the hub in Sheremetyevo Airport, Moscow, where connections can be made to Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai and other Asian destinations.
AirBridge has been developing a presence in Narita for two years. “New route is a part of our network plan that will give long term consistency of our product. We will continue to work closely with our freight forwarding partners to provide capacity when and where they need it,” said Tatyana Arslanova, ABC’s executive senior vice president, strategy, marketing and sales.
Established in 2003 as a specialist division of Volga-Dnepr Group, AirBridge Cargo serves primary destinations in Europe and Asia. It is the first Russian all-cargo airline to operate scheduled 747 freighter services on Europe–Russia–Asia routes.
