Oilfield service company Baker Hughes hired CEVA Logistics to manage all inbound and outbound Australasia freight logistics, CEVA announced today. Baker Hughes has operations in more than 90 countries where it helps customers drill, evaluate and produce oil and gas wells. CEVA will manage all customs clearance, container stripping and break bulk deliveries to Baker Hughes’ operations. CEVA will also oversee line haul operations on the West Australian coast and a range of wharf services, including break bulk.
CEVA was formed in August 2007 as a result of the merger of TNT Logistics and EGL Eagle Global Logistics. The company is owned by affiliates of private equity investor Apollo Management LP and has facilities in more than 150 countries. The company reported combined revenue of approximately $9.2 billion in 2008.
