Minneapolis, Dec. 3, 2009 – The American Logistics Aid Network (ALAN), which serves as a primary point of industry contact for disaster relief support, announces that NASSTRAC is its newest industry association partner. Through this new affiliation, NASSTRAC will help support ALAN’s mission to engage the supply chain community to support and assist humanitarian relief efforts. ALAN makes donation needs visible to the logistics industry and establishes an efficient process for providing the necessary goods and services through its web portal, www.ALANaid.org.

Needs for supply chain expertise, products, equipment, and services such as transportation, warehousing and material handling are matched with available donations.
“NASSTRAC is an industry association that serves transportation executives with manufacturing, retail, distributors, as well as 3PLs and carriers,” said Jock Menzies, president of ALAN. “As such, they are in an ideal position to engage their members to provide transportation and supply chain-related services when a crisis happens. We are pleased to have NASSTRAC onboard as ALAN’s newest association partner.”

Other association partners with ALAN include the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP), the International Warehouse Logistics Association (IWLA), the Warehousing Education and Research Council (WERC), and the International Refrigerated Transportation Association (IRTA).
