World Shipping Council Elects New Board Members

NYK's Mizushima replaces MOL’s Yakushiji; four others reelected

The World Shipping Council elected Kenji Mizushima, CEO of NYK's Global Liner Management Division, to its board at its semi-annual meeting in September.

Mizushima fills the position formerly held by Masakazu Yakushiji, executive vice president of MOL.

The Council also re-elected four board members to new two-year terms, including Thomas Crowley, Jr., chairman, president and CEO of Crowley Maritime; Rafi Danieli, CEO of Zim Integrated Shipping Services, Y.M. Kim, president and CEO of Hanjin Shipping; and Ron Widdows, CEO of NOL. Widdows serves as chairman of the WSC board.

The other members of the Council’s board are: Mr. Philip Chow, Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL); Mr. Morten H. Engelstoft, Maersk Line; Mr. Joachim A. Konrad, Hamburg Süd; Mr. Ulrich Kranich, Hapag Lloyd; Mr. Rodolphe Saadé, CMA CGM; and Dr. Sun Jia-Kang, COSCO Container Lines.
