Internet-based service enables booking, tracking in real time

OOCL is launching on March 9 an Internet-based service that enables customers to choose the ocean service they need, book space for their cargo online and track their cargo’s movement through the supply chain in real time.

The carrier said the service, called MY OOCL, enables buyers and suppliers to “lower their costs, react quickly to market changes and operate a high-speed supply chain in order to meet the formidable challenges.”

The service includes all the features of the company’s existing online CargoSmart service, including sailing schedules, booking, shipping instructions, bill of lading printing, arrival notices, invoices and payment, rates of exchange, cargo tracking and reporting.
