MSC Hikes Europe-South Asia Surcharges

Bunker fuel, currency charges to rise as of Dec. 1

Mediterranean Shipping Co. will increase the surcharges for bunker fuel and currency on cargo between Europe and South Asia as of Dec. 1.

MSC will apply a currency adjustment factor of 9.5 percent on eastbound cargo from ports in Northern Europe, Scandinavia, the Baltic States, the Mediterranean and the Black Sea.

The Geneva-based carrier will apply a bunker adjustment factor of $350 per 20-foot equivalent unit on all cargo moving in both detections between those ports and India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
