APL to Raise Asia-Europe Rates

APL said it will raise freight rates on the Asia-Europe trade next month.

It plans to seek rate increases on eastbound traffic from Europe to Asia of US$175 per 20-foot container for paper and scrap commodities and US$100 per TEU for all other commodities as of March 15.

It will seek rates increases of US$250 per TEU from Asia to Europe on the westbound leg, effective April 1.
