McAllister Towing and Transportation said it is joining the Marine Response Alliance, a group of companies that provides rescue towing, lightering, salvage and firefighting services in all U.S. port zones.
McAllister joins other MRA member companies -- Crowley Marine Services, Marine Pollution Control, Titan Maritime, and Marine Hazard Response (a joint venture of Wild Well Control and Williams Fire and Hazard Control) --to provide OPA-90 salvage and marine firefighting services to the maritime community.
Regulatory changes in OPA-90 salvage and marine firefighting regulations prompted MRA to expand and strengthen its capabilities.
The alliance said the addition of McAllister enhances its existing emergency towing capability and solidifies its position as the premier provider of marine emergency response services.
The alliance said the addition of McAllister gives it combined resources of more than 11,000 full-time employees and a fleet of over 370 vessels owned and operated by the five MRA member companies.
