OOCL Names New Trade Management Team

OOCL is changing the leadership at the container line’s trade management group effective June 13.

The Hong Kong-based carrier named Miranda Lou, now managing director of OOCL’s Hong Kong branch, director of the Asia-Europe trade lanes, succeeding Taylor Gao, who resigned from the company.

Teddy Fung, currently director of reefer trade, will succeed Lou as managing director of the Hong Kong Branch.

OOCL also named Pamela Tung, now director of the trans-Atlantic business, director of the reefer trade.

Michael Kwok, currently director of OOCL’s trade management, will become director of the carrier’s trans-Atlantic trade.

The changes come as carriers are preparing for the peak shipping season and pressing to halt a slide in freight rates that began in the first quarter.

OOCL said this month it plans to hike its Asia-Europe rates as of June 1.
