OOCL to Boost SE Asia-Australia Rates

OOCL says it will increase freight rates on cargo moving to Australia from Southeast Asia, including from Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Philippines, the Indian subcontinent and Middle East.

Rates will rise $200 per 20-foot equivalent unit on April 1.

The Hong Kong-based liner company said, “Ocean freight rates continue to be below the required level to cover basic operating costs or transportation costs in our Southeast Asia-Australia services.”
