An MOL container ship collided with another container ship owned by Cosco on Wednesday southeast of Hong Kong.
The MOL Maneuver collided with the Cosco ship Zhen He while under way in open waters at 5:45 p.m. Japan time.
MOL said none of the crew aboard the MOL Maneuver was injured and no oil leak has been observed. The ship was capable of sailing under its own power.
MOL said it was investigating the situation aboard the Cosco ship and that it had not identified any injured persons or oil leakage on the Zhen He.
The MOL Maneuver, which has a capacity of 6,700 20-foot equivalent units and serves on the trade from Europe to the Far East, was under way from Singapore to Yantian. The Zhen He has a capacity of 3,800 TEUs.
