Dockwise, the Dutch heavy-lift operator, said it now controls 80.4 percent of the outstanding shares of takeover target Fairstar Heavy Transport.
Dockwise, whose 9.30 Norwegian kroner ($1.56) per share bid in April was rejected by Oslo-listed Fairstar, didn’t say how much it paid for the 20 percent of the company’s shares it acquired over the weekend.
Netherlands-based Dockwise, which is listed in Amsterdam and Oslo, operates a fleet of 19 semi-submersibles and employs 1,200 people.
Fairstar operates four heavy-lift vessels, also out of the Netherlands.
