NYK Line, “K” Line, Pacific International Lines and Hyundai Merchant Marine will jointly operate a new liner service between the Far East and the East Coast of South America, effective in June.
The new service will deploy 10 vessels of 4,250 TEUs each, offering a weekly frequency, with NYK Line, “K” Line and PIL phasing in three vessels each and HMM, one.
The 70-day rotation will be Shanghai, Ningbo, Hong Kong, Shekou, Singapore, Santos, Buenos Aires, Montevideo, Navegantes, Paranagua, Santos, Rio de Janeiro, Cape Town, Singapore, Hong Kong, and back to Shanghai.
The coverage at Cape Town, South Africa, will be provided by “K” Line and PIL with an eastbound call on the planned service, the carriers stated in a joint announcement.
