New FONASBA President Marygrace CollinsThe Federation of National Associations of Shipbrokers and Agents recently elected ship broker Marygrace Collins, vice president of the U.S.-based Bulkore Chartering, as president, succeeding Christakis Papavassiliou after his two-year term.
Collins’ goals in this role include working to get more companies to sign up to meet the FONASBA Quality Standard, which identifies well-funded, quality agents and brokers; and promoting education and training within the membership, she said at the annual FONASBA meeting.
She has been a ship broker since 1982, and a FONASBA director since 2006. She served on the Association of Ship Brokers & Agents from 1995 to 2008, and was the association’s first female president.
