Zim to Hike Rates on India-Europe Trades

Zim Integrated Shipping Services will raise its rates on services between the Indian subcontinent and North Europe, starting April 1.

The planned increase on westbound cargo from the Indian subcontinent to North Europe, the Mediterranean (including Israel) and the Black Sea region will be $200 per 20-foot container.

Rates on the eastbound trade will go up by $150 per 20-foot container.

“These increases are necessary to maintain our current levels of service and high reliability,” the Israeli carrier said.

This is the third general rate increase Zim has imposed this year on Asia-Indian subcontinent-Europe trade lanes. The carrier applied westbound increases of $200 per TEU as of Feb. 1 and $750 per TEU as of March 1.
