Emirates Shipping Line will enter a vessel-sharing agreement with Hapag-Lloyd and Regional Container Line on its service linking China, Southeast Asia and the Indian Subcontinent, starting in early February.
The Middle East-based ESL did not say how many vessels the two carriers will phase in on the fixed-day weekly service. Under the new VSA, the Hyper Galex Service will add direct calls at Xingang, China, and Colombo, Sri Lanka, and discontinue an existing call at Karachi, Pakistan.
The revised port rotation will be: Xingang, Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Da Chan Bay, Singapore, Port Kelang, Colombo, Nhava Sheva (Jawaharlal Nehru), Pipavav, Port Kelang, Singapore and back to Xingang. The first westbound sailing under the new rotation is slated for Feb. 11 from Xingang.
