OMAHA, Neb. — The Scoular Company is pleased to announce that Maersk Line and Hanjin Shipping have been selected as the winners of the company’s second annual Carrier of the Year Award and Award for Operational Excellence, respectively.

Both award winners were selected based upon a comprehensive evaluation completed by Scoular trade and operations staff members. Maersk was selected for the Carrier of the Year Award based on total volume of containers loaded, sales force engagement, and lane diversity, as well as operational performance. Criteria for Scoular’s Award for Operational Excellence, awarded to Hanjin, included bill of lading issuance, customer service and booking fulfillment, effective e-commerce tools, and consignee satisfaction.

“We’re thrilled to recognize these two outstanding carrier partners of our BCO and NVO businesses,” said John Messerich, Senior Vice President. “Our experience with both Maersk and Hanjin has been excellent, and we've found their performance to be superior.”

“While these two companies are the winners of this year’s awards, we work with a number of steamship lines. We’re dedicated to collaborating with all of them to improve the efficiency of the container supply chain for the benefit of Scoular's end-use customers.” Messerich added that between its BCO business and NVO business, known in the industry as TSC Container Freight, Scoular exports more than 100,000 TEUs annually.

Scoular representatives will be meeting with team members from both award-winning companies in December to present the awards in person.
