Ocean carrier Orient Overseas Container Line had revenue in the third quarter, ending Sept. 30, of $1.60 billion, up 10.9 percent year-over-year from $1.44 billion in the same period, according to figures released by parent Orient Overseas (International) Limited.
Quarterly Asia-Europe revenue jumped 25.3 percent, trans-Pacific increased 11.2 percent, intra-Asia and Australasia rose 8.6 percent and trans-Atlantic decreased 6.0 percent.
Revenue in the first nine months of 2012 was $4.47 billion, up 7.0 percent from last year’s $4.18 billion.
Quarterly volume was 1.36 million 20-foot-equivalent units, up 3.4 percent compared with last year’s volume in the third quarter of 1.32 million TEUs.
Volume from January to September was 3.95 million TEUs, an increase of 5.1 percent year-over-year from 3.76 million TEUs.
