Mediterranean Shipping will apply a general rate increase for U.S. shipments to the Middle East, India, the Mediterranean and Africa, starting March 1.
The world’s second-largest container shipping company’s planned increase will be $150 per 20-foot equivalent unit and $300 per 40-foot equivalent unit. The Geneva-based carrier's annoucement comes as other carriers, including Maersk Line and OOCL, push rate hikes on various trade lanes.
