Maersk Line will seek a general rate increase on shipments from India to Latin America, effective Aug. 1.
The proposed increase will be $150 per 20-foot-equivalent unit.
“In order to continue offering our broad portfolio of services and high level of reliability, it will be necessary for us to implement a rate increase,” Maersk said.
The move follows a similar rate hike notice the Danish carrier issued on trade from Latin America to the Indian subcontinent and the Middle East, which takes effect July 15.
