A record 2,000 carrier, logistics, trade and shipper interests descended upon Long Beach, Calif., for the 13th annual TPM Conference March 4-6. By the time Maersk Line CEO Soren Skou finished his keynote address an hour into the show, we already had learned at least three things. The biggest revelation, of course, was Maersk’s new customer service initiative, in which the world’s largest container carrier is setting eight goals that Skou said reflect customers’ needs for improvements in basic tasks.
But there were many more TPM takeaways over the next 2½ days. Here are eight more things we learned.
