Hapag-Lloyd will increase rates for all cargo in its trade from intra-Latin America and Latin America to North America, effective April 1.
From the Port of Vitoria, Brazil, to the U.S., Canada and Dominican Republic, the hike will be $200 per 20-foot and 40-foot container.
From Mexico to Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia and Colombia, the increase will be $100 per 20-foot container and $200 per 40-foot container.
From Chile, Peru, Ecuador and Bolivia to the U.S., Canada, Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia, Colombia, Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, Mexico, Central America and Caribbean destinations, the increase will be $100 per 20-foot and 40-foot container and $300 per 20-foot and 40-foot refrigerated container.
The German ocean carrier will also hike rates for forest products, including wastepaper, lumber and woodpulp and newsprint or directory paper, from Canada to Latin America, by $100 per 20-foot and 40-foot container, starting April 1.
