Hapag-Lloyd will raise rates on its trans-Atlantic trade, effective April 1.
From Canada, the U.S. and Mexico to North Europe and the Mediterranean, the increase will be $150 per 20-foot container and $200 per 40-foot container. From Europe to Canada, the U.S. and Mexico, the hike will be $250 per 20-foot container and $350 per 40-foot container. To, from or via Portland, Ore., the ocean carrier said it will apply an additional $150 per container because of considerably increased terminal costs.
Additionally, the German ocean carrier will increase rates on its trade between North Europe and the Mediterranean and Oceania, effective April 1. From North Europe to Oceania, the increase will be $195 per 20-foot container and $390 per 40-foot container. From the Mediterranean to Oceania, the hike will be $250 per 20-foot container and $500 per 40-foot container.
Starting March 18, Hapag-Lloyd Mexico will revise some inland tariffs. Changes will depend on the route and container type. The ocean carrier will also revise some local surcharges and import and export detention charges in India and Sri Lanka, effective that same day.
