Four Carriers to Start Trans-Pacific Loop

Four Asian carriers are teaming up in a joint service from North Asia to Long Beach in early April.

Hanjin Shipping, Cosco Container Lines, Pacific International Lines and Wan Hai Lines will deploy five vessels, each with capacities of 3,600 to 3,850 20-foot equivalent units, on the service, which is called the CLX (Central China-Long Beach Express).

Cosco will provide two of the ships, and the other three partners will each provide one.

The port rotation will be Fuzhou, Ningbo, Shanghai, Yokohama, Long Beach and back to Fuzhou.

The CLX service will start from Fuzhou on April 5, but will not start calls at Yokohama until the middle of May.
