Emirates Shipping Line plans to expand its intra-Asia service network by buying slots on the Pacific South & Gulf Service (PSG) operated by Hanjin Shipping, effective in early September.
The Middle East carrier said it will market the new loop as the Far East Gulf Express Service. The port coverage will be Pusan, Shanghai, Ningbo, Yantian, Singapore, Jebel Ali, Dammam, Port Kelang, Singapore, Laem Chabang and Yantian.
"The FGX service offers a superior regional coverage from Asia to Middle East with Emirates now having multiple, weekly coverage in this important trade lane,” the carrier said.
The first westbound sailing under the slot-charter arrangement is scheduled for Sept. 3 from Pusan.
Emirates also said with participation in PSG, it is now in a position to offer three weekly sailings covering the Far East.
