Chilean container carrier CSAV imposed a general rate increase on trades from the Indian Subcontinent and the Middle East to Europe, the Mediterranean, Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean.
The proposed increase, starting Feb. 1, will be $200 per 20-foot equivalent unit.
“In order to continue offering our wide portfolio of services and high level of reliability, it will be necessary for us to implement a general rate increase,” CSAV India said.
The move follows a similar increase notice by German ocean carrier Hamburg Sud on same trade routes, also effective Feb. 1.
