CMA CGM recently launched the Citrus Express, a seasonal service to transport citrus exports from Turkey and Egypt to Russia.
The fixed-day weekly service will transport goods from Mersin, Turkey, to Novorossiysk, Russia, in five days; and Damietta, Egypt, to Novorossiysk in seven days.
Beginning Nov. 2, the container shipping company will also deploy three vessels of 1,100 20-foot-equivalent units for a loop connecting all three countries, beginning and ending in Port Said, Egypt.
By mid-February, the end of the citrus season in Turkey, an additional port call will be added in Egypt for the beginning of the citrus season there.
