CMA CGM, China Shipping Container Line and United Arab Shipping Co. are extending their jointly operated Asia-North Europe service to cover Asia-Middle East routes.
The Asia-Middle East service, launching in early February, will deploy seven ships each with a capacity of 13,000-14,000 20-foot equivalent units providing coverage of northeast Asian ports and central and south Chinese ports to the Arabian Gulf.
The existing Asia-Europe service, deploying 10 13,000-14,000 TEUs ships, will be slightly amended to include quick west and eastbound calls at Jeddah starting in late February. This will not compromise the transit time from Asia to north Europe, the carriers said.
