Alianca Receives Delivery of New 3,800-TEU Ship

Ocean container carrier Alianca has received delivery of the first of four identical vessels to be deployed in its Brazilian coastal service.

Sebastio Caboto, with a capacity of 3,800 20-foot-equivalent units and 500 plugs for refrigerated containers, is scheduled to arrive in Brazil to start the import process in mid-February. The remaining three vessels will be phased in during the course of 2013.

The four vessels represent an investment of more than BRL$450 million (about US$226.5 million).
